Mitochondria in Exercise

The focus of our research program is on understanding the mechanism underlying mitochondria dysfunction in metabolic related diseases and changes with exercise in different tissues including heart, muscle and brain. We are particularly focused on following:

  1. Identifying changes in the global proteome in different tissues in response to exercise and time-of day
  2. Developing novel low-stress exercise interventions that can still improve cardiac and skeletal muscle function.
  3. Understanding changes in the mitochondrial proteome across different tissues in response to exercise training.
